Workplace Flu Vaccinations
Approximately 20% of New Zealander’s get the flu annually, with approximately 400 of these cases resulting in fatality. These statistics can have a large impact on your business when resulting in absenteeism and reduced productivity in the workplace with workers taking off between 5 and 10 days on average when infected.
The influenza vaccine is a proven and powerful way to counteract the effects and ramifications of influenza throughout Autumn, Winter and Spring. Studies prove that healthy employees who are vaccinated against the flu have nearly half the number of doctor visits and sick days due to upper respiratory illness, compared to those who were not vaccinated.
The flu vaccine can also help prevent injuries. Employees who continue to work when they have the flu have 20-40% slower reaction times, presenting a greater risk of injury.
